Job Description for Associate Pastor

Description:

Christ’s Forgiveness Ministries is a Home Church Ministry within the global body of Christ. Our ministry emphasizes the transmittance of the gospel focusing the power of forgiveness, radical Spirit filled living, discipleship, one-to-one mentoring, and missionary work. This position is to provide the Senior Pastor with support, and the Church with assistance in youth and family ministry


Responsibilities:

 Accountable to the Senior Pastor to perform tasks within a defined scope, quality, timeframe, and supporting Senior pastor’s vision and leadership within the church

 Will be responsible for building a growing and vibrant Spirit Filled youth ministry while conducting Effective Evangelism and be responsible for youth and young adult evangelism within the community

 Recruit volunteers to serve in children, youth, and young adult ministries

 Provide supervision and oversight of children’s, youth, and young adult’s ministries

 Teach Sunday school to either young adults or teenagers and build Sunday School program for other age groups through recruiting and volunteer management skills


 Plan youth service involving youth every quarter (4times/year)

 Establish regular and direct contact with the youth and families of the church through attendance, telephone, personal visitation, and meetings

 Develop Godly and committed volunteer youth leaders

 Provide Evangelism and Mentorship training to youth

 Familiarize with youth events in the greater body of Christ primarily amongst Apostolic Pentecostal Churches and other Pentecostal ministries (P.A.O.C, Church of God).

 Schedule a bi-annual retreat for both youth and young adults

 Make a VBS program for 1 week in the Summer

 Develop 4 missions trip within the year (1 to downtown Toronto, 1 to Scarborough, 1 out of town, and 1 out of country) developing innovative fun raising ideas

 Within a year with a team of youth, plant a new urban ministry within Ajax that caters specifically to teenagers using teenage musicians, preachers, teachers and leaders on a Friday Night

 Develop quarterly Evangelistic Crusades within the area

 Preach on rotation with Pastor once a month and when Pastor is not there on discussed topics

 Follow-up with families who are in crisis

 Aid the pastor in every way possible in the carrying out of his leadership and pastoral duties.

 Make personal phone contact to all members and visitors of the church once a week receiving prayer requests, offering prayer support, reminding of meetings, making known Church events and needs, encouraging involvement, and mild counselling through C.F.M. manual keeping tracking spreadsheets and an updated phone file.

 Will teach membership classes every quarter

 Will take an active role and be present at prayer meetings

 Be at leadership meetings and apart of the Evening Evangelism Outreach team once a week


Qualifications:

 The Assistant Pastor will have been a Christian for at least 5 years with a clear salvation and Pentecostal experience

 The Assistant Pastor will be calm, sensitive, encouraging, relationship oriented and able to minister and present the gospel

 The Assistant Pastor must be competent, visionary, and able to work independently (with or without support and instruction) and be able to be a backbone of Church ministry dedicated to the ministry of C.F.M

 Will become a member of C.F.M, regularly attend Church services, tithe to C.F.M., complete C.F.M. Bible Studies, adhere to the C.F.M confession of faith, and be apart of the ongoing training programs

 The leader will be expected to abide by and reflect in their attitude, beliefs, and in clothing modesty and
willing to practice the principles of 1 Corinthians 11 in church worship, prayer, and corporate gatherings.

 Enrolment or Completion of a Degree in Theology/Religious Studies and/or Experience is an asset-however will consider those who have none

 The Assistant Pastor will be confident to speak in front of people and meet new people, and lead and teach principles of the Christian faith according to the Bible in agreement with C.F.M.

 Proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint

 Working knowledge of Photoshop and Website Design Applications is an asset

 Will possess organizational skills

 Directly report and primary loyalty to the Pastor

 A passion to see others develop in their leadership abilities and gifts. This will require articulating vision to motivate others to participate, equipping, training and then empowering.

 An ability to relate authentically with unbelievers.

 An ability to envision,
develop, implement and evaluate plans, structures and programs.

 Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to prepare material for teaching and
preaching that is Biblically based and relevant to people’s lives.

 Evidence of a disciplined and balanced life that includes a growing and authentic walk with Christ

 The Leader will also hand in a formal proposition regarding the goals and how they plan to accomplish growth and success.

COMMITMENT

 The Assistant Pastor will remain committed to their duty for a minimum of 1 year.

 It is absolutely essential that all items of a personal nature of which pastor becomes aware must remain confidential. The divulging of any private matters of any person – church member or not – will be considered grounds for immediate dismissal.

 Youth Pastor must be physically able to do ministry within Ajax, ON

 Committed to weekly evangelism team, bible studies/cell group and attendance to Church on Sunday
Salary: Volunteer with promise of Salary (Based upon Church Growth)

This position will be a volunteer position until the ministry grows with a quarterly review for the first 6 months followed by an end of year review.
 There will be a review for the first 6 months. Based on performance and Church growth, during annual review, finances will be reviewed
