Job Description for Pastor of Spiritual Formation
The Grove is a missional, outward focused church committed to making the name of Jesus famous locally and globally. The Grove is located in the expanding East Valley of the greater Phoenix area. The Grove’s congregation is young, dynamic, and passionate about living out their faith.
Our three core values are: Love God, Grow Together, and Serve the World. This both defines our passions and values, as well as our discipleship process as we move people from a relationship with God, to growing in Christ and building community, and then out in to the world to love and serve.
The Grove is seeking a Pastor of Spiritual Formation with a heart for leading the people of The Grove toward a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God.
Qualifications:
-Masters degree or higher from a Christian institution
-Ability to teach and communicate God’s Word effectively
-Must demonstrate initiative, show strong leadership skills, be well organized, a motivator of others, an
effective delegator, and a team player
-Have an ability to recruit, train, and delegate ministry to volunteers leaders
-Have experience in managing church finances and leading the operation of a healthy church
-Must be a good leader and mentor with experience mentoring other staff
-Minimum of five years experience in full time ministry
Responsibilities:
- Develop a culture, grow a movement, and lead missional ministries to adults, including but not limited to:
Life-groups, Frontline Ministries, Women’s Ministry, and Men’s Ministry
-Facilitate strategic teaching series for adults to grow knowledge of God; on Sunday mornings and/or weeknights
-Build a Men’s Ministry leadership team
-Provide discipleship, counseling, encouragement, prayer, support, assimilation, and visitation
-Equip, challenge, and shepherd staff
-Pursue and enable the dreams and visions of the Lead Pastor and elders
-Call people and provide leadership to be missional locally and globally
Executive Responsibilities
-Manage the daily operations of the church
-Manage support staff and other staff as needed
-Manage the church’s finances
Preaching
-Share in the preaching/teaching ministry of The Grove
-To communicate naturally, with dynamic conviction, and be well informed and well studied.
