Job Description for Director of Children's Ministry
DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES – PART-TIME
United Methodist Church seeking a Director of Children’s Ministries. A successful candidate would offer strong organizational skills, high energy, and ability to effectively relate to children of all ages beginning with infants, pre-school through fifth grades. The Children’s Ministry Director would collaborate with youth ministries for a cohesive ministry with all young people relating to the church. Must be able to work with parents or care-givers to established confidence and trust.
Must have a passion for Christ demonstrated through a love of children and youth with a commitment to their spiritual development. Responsibilities would be primarily with teens 12 and up, but must effectively supervise current adult leaders, lead parents and recruit other adults to serve with and as youth leaders.
Responsibilities include planning, developing, and leading wholistic youth programs designed to promote spiritual growth through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Director would coordinate all Sunday and weekly nursery staff. Coordinate and act as resource person for the Children’s Ministries Team, children’s worship programs, mid-week program, Sunday morning Christian education. The Director will coordinate special events and activities and will enlist and oversee adult participation to insure safe effective children’s ministry programming.
