Job Description for Youth/English Pastor
Exodus Community Church is seeking a part-time or half-timeYouth/English Adult Ministry
Pastor with focus on Youth Ministry. We are a growing church in North Chicago suburban area, predominantly Asian-American church located in Buffalo Grove. Masters of Divinity degree is preferred but a seminary student will be considered based on his/her experience. Two years of minimumyouth ministry experience preferred.
Our ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate solid Biblical truth through leading by word and deed, serving as a role model to the upcoming generation of youth. Moreover, sensitivity
to multi-ethnic and multi-generational values is required. We are looking for a candidate who is fluent in English (with Korean a bonus), a team player, has a zeal for working with youth, and good administration/organizational skills. Experience working with Asian-Americans and their families is a plus.
Pastoral duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:
-Oversight of both high school, junior high school youth programs
-Preaching & teaching
-Shepherding the youth
-Active participation in official church events and leadership meetings
-Coordination of youth discipleship & leadership programs
-Development and implementation of teaching curriculum (e.g. Sunday
school, Bible studies, small group studies)
-Leading and organizing youth events (e.g. retreats, missions trips, outings)
-Counseling of youth and their families
-Building / improving relationship strength between parents and their youth
-Implementing the transition of the children to youth ministry, and
also the youth to young adult ministry
-Recruiting and training of lay leaders and teachers
-Continued development of youth co-workers and youth servant teams
-Regularly providing communications (e.g. bulletins, newsletters)
